Update Regarding USDA Wildlife Services

Dan Glover of Trapper Dan’s had an eventful meeting with his congressmen over the congressional break. Learn more about Daniel Glover on his own campaign website (yes Robb designed that web site).

Many of you  who have been involved in the Defunding USDA Wildlife Services now have the opportunity to testify before Congress this Spring. I will be putting together a list of those who will be invited to testify.

Those of you still wanting to share new situations in front of Congress that involves unfair competition please get with Robb 352-575-0121 or Dan Glover http://www.trapperdans.com/. We have been promised after Congress gets back in session an announcement will be made and a committee member will have a future Congressional POC.

Apparently our tea party friend in Congress agrees with the position of The Wildlife Pro Network that the USDA Wildlife Services has out grown its usefulness.

We will update on this more at http://defundusda.wildlifeservcies.us

The USDA Wildlife Services did a 5000+ SF, courthouse  a Two Story building and was bid at 72.5 cents per square foot[SF] compared to two other bidders who both came in around $4 per SF [+ or -] of each other. Mike Hurley the second bidder set a full day for just sealing up the nearly 100 foot  pyramid shaped tower and four days of mechanical lift rentals for the remainder of this structure.

It was designed by the Wheeling architectural firm of Franzheim and Giesey and is in the Romanesque Revival style.
The porches at the front and southeast corners feature heavy stone columns with stout capitals that support the balcony’s balustrade. It is on the National Historical Register.

Quoting the congressperson this Tues, Nov 8th , “There is a problem when government comes in and under bids licensed and insured small business in the market place. That courthouse was done by the US government and if anything went wrong at the Fayette County West Virginia Courthouse would of have been a problem because the government has no insurance and you can’t sue the government or words to that effect.

Many of you are not aware of how far the USDA Wildlife Services can reach into any job in our industry.

Many of you are not aware that its not just beaver, nutria and predator work either.

Any job from any Agency, Municipality or Major Corporation or Industrial Complex.

Why Defunding and Stopping USDA Wildlife Services from Continuing Growing Is Important.

Today, many businesses face unfair competition from an unlikely source: the federal government.

USDA Wildlife Services is one of the few Federal Agencies that actively competes with private sector companies. Aided by tax payer funding they are often able to undercut the prices charged by private companies.

When American consumers need to find a service, they turn to the Yellow Pages, or more likely today, the Internet. However, more and more federal agencies are duplicating services that are readily available in the private sector which not only unnecessarily increases the size of the federal workforce, but directly competes with main street businesses across the country. This creates unnecessary competition for private businesses and prevents the federal government from focusing its attention on more critical functions.

The current economic slowdown has put increased focus on implementing government policies that facilitate private sector growth. By giving private companies a level playing field in providing services that are unnecessarily duplicated by the federal government, we can spur private job creation and protect taxpayer interests.

With your help we can stop this unfair uncompetitive business edge. Contact your representatives in Congress.

Make a point to also contact US Senator John Thune’s office  who is a big fan of not having federal government duplicating jobs in the private sector and sits on U.S. Senate Agriculture Committee.
